Attack of the Brush Pen Dragons and trying out Canson 100 lb Smooth Bristol pad

Got this pad of smooth bristol on clearance a while back, and finally got to try it today.
This smooth bristol board was made in France by Canson, a company that has been in business for over 4 centuries. With such a pedigree, I think we can be pretty confident that this student paper should perform quite well. Yet its stock in stores might be in the process of being replaced by the Canson XL Recycled Bristol Pads that feature more pages per pad and dual sided surfaces: vellun on front and smooth on back.Since I have been neglecting the "monster" factor of this bog, I used most of the brush pens at my disposal to sketch these dragons on 8.5" X 11" Georgia Pacific 110 lb white card stock as a warm up.

The 11" X 14" Canson 100 lb (260 gsm) smooth Bristol sheet was quite a pleasant support for working with the brush pens on this last dragon image. The pens glided effortlessly on its smooth surface which must certainly reduce wear on their delicate brush nibs.

Very nifty! I have only a few brush pens and I'm kind of skittish about using them.

Thanks! I used to be somewhat skittish about using my brush pens as well until replacement cartridges became more readily available online.
