As I cleaned my drafting table, I found this loose sheet of
Nujabi handmade watercolor paper with deckle edges which reminded me that I have not used much an oversized handmade journal made with this paper. As a warm up it seemed like a good idea to paint a fresh color chart with the
Faber Castell Albrecht Durer aquarelle sticks that I plan to use in this sketchbook.

Color chart painted with a 1/2"
Utrecht Sablette wash brush on
Nujabi handmade watercolor paper. The sticks were pre-moistened with with clean water from an atomizer before running the wet brush back and forth over them a few times. The sample swatches were painted with thick washes using the
aquarelle sticks as watercolor pans.

My watercolor brushes have been gathering dust lately, so I picked a #3
Trekell 7000 Kolinsky round sable brush for some impromptu doodling on a small
Cotman pad I had laying around. With the convenience and portability of
waterbrushes, I tend to neglect to use my sable brushes for a long time. Guess I should work with them more often and do some posts on them soon.
